For the last 60 days, I have been challenging myself to only shoot using my newest lens.
My newest lens is the Canon 50mm f1.8. What first drew me to this Canon lens was its compact size. It is small and lightweight which lets me to carry it more places allowing for additional opportunities to shoot.
In the 60 days I’ve had the 50mm f1.8, I’ve traveled the country with it and used it for portrait and nature shoots.
The main obstacle I’ve faced with the lens is that it does not zoom. At first, I thought this was a problem but quickly learned to move my body (not the lens) around a scene to capture things I otherwise would have missed. Even since I’ve stopped restricting myself, I still choose this lens. Below are some highlights from my 60 days using the Canon 50mm f1.8 lens.
