If you’re a small business owner with a blog or website you’ve probably already figured out that when it comes to leading traffic to your site there is no one-size-fits-all formula. What works like crazy for some people won’t always translate to what you’re trying to accomplish.
Last month after reading different blog posts about Pinterest strategies, I started to notice a trend. All of the posts (this is my favorite) had one thing that was common among them all that I wasn’t already doing.
That thing was Pinterest Group Boards.
A few days after this revelation I woke up super motivated and applied to 4 group boards. The next day I was added to all four and I decided on what to pin first.

I pinned the above image that links back to my Understanding ISO post. 24 hours went by before I logged back on to Pinterest and I was shook! Over the next few days I was even more shook!
What happened?
Those four pins in 4 different group boards had blown up. Over 3 days those pins pulled in 1000 views to that post on my website, 400 repins (all four added up), and grew my email list (there’s an opt-in in my Understanding ISO post).
Like I said, I WAS SHOOK!
I felt like I had been ignoring the best advice about Pinterest – utilize group boards.

Why should I join a Group Board?
These boards can expand your pin’s reach because you + all of the other members contribute followers to the board.
How do I join a Group Board?
Each board has its own set of rules. Read the rules and follow the directions to be added. Check out my Photography Biz & Tips Group Board. Follow the directions if you would like to join!
Joining a group board won’t guarantee you a viral pin but it will definitely up your chances. Read The Anatomy of a Great Pin to get you on your way to Pinterest success.
