As an Ohio engagement photographer, I’ve explored endless dynamic locations for photo sessions and met countless incredible couples. Sometimes the locations make my jaw drop, and more often the couple steals the spotlight. But every now and then, a location and a couple fit together so flawlessly that it feels like magic! And after a quick glance at Mariam & Connor’s photos, you’ll certainly agree that their Scioto Mile engagement session in Columbus was one of those breathtaking treats.
Mariam suggested Scioto Mile when were discussing locations and I couldn’t say “yes” fast enough. When the day of their session came I woke up early and drove from sunny Akron to Columbus to find myself in a torrential downpour. Before panicking, I looked up the actual weather radar to see that the rain should pass completely in 20 minutes. I called Mariam and we decided to wait. Exactly 20 minutes after we decided to wait out the rain, it stopped. We were able to complete their whole session in that beautiful after rain light in a nearly empty Scioto Mile.
Mariam & Connor told me before their session that they wanted to incorporate some of their favorite things into their photos including margaritas, soccer, coffee, and doughnuts. It was easy to deliver and we even got in a quick running/piggyback workout in their soccer attire. The Columbus skyline and the cloudy skies gave the whole session a romantic feel with a dash of big city wonder.
But let’s be honest: how could the images be anything less than stunning with a fashionable pair like this one in front of the lens! Finding the perfect spot to take engagement photos isn’t always easy but you better believe I’ll be retuning to Scioto Mile over and over again. Congratulations, Mariam & Connor on your engagement, and I can’t wait to celebrate your happily ever after in 2021.
