A midsummer wedding day isn’t for everyone. The heat can be overwhelming and the sun can be blinding, but the radiance of Megan and Jon’s love felt right at home under the summer sun as they promised each other their forevers. Their stunning ceremony in a brilliant green pasture was unforgettable, and I can’t wait to share more from this Columbia Station wedding celebration with you!
Megan and Jon’s wedding was all about luxury—could you guess from their Gucci perfume and Versace cologne? Megan wore a full, flower-overlaid ballgown with a plunging sweetheart neckline. The simple but elegant white flowers from Hirt’s Flowers and light blush colors created a minimalistic, elegant look. Her undone-up-do, by Jordan Muchewicz (check him out on Instagram!), and glam-yet-classy makeup by Justine Petchler of Born This Way Beauty complimented her full look perfectly!
Before the ceremony started, Megan had a sweet, intimate first look with her dad, who hugged her tightly and gave her a spin when he saw her. I loved this special take on a first look—keeping the tradition of an in-ceremony first look between bride and groom, while including a special moment between daughter and dad.
The ceremony itself was hot and bright, but thanks to the shade provided by a massive oak tree, it never felt overwhelming. The guests were definitely overwhelmed by emotion when Megan and Jon were pronounced husband and wife. Their first kiss as husband and wife was meant for a fairytale—the bright blue sky overhead and rolling green pastures beyond were perfect!
While the guests and the wedding party headed inside for a little AC and cocktails, we took advantage of the bright green foliage and the golden sun overhead to get some lovely bridal portraits. I loved when John lifted Megan up and kissed her—it made for a gorgeous photograph, especially with the fading sunlight over the treetops.
The reception of their Columbia Station wedding was as classy and elegant as the ceremony itself. The deep mahogany accents of the venue, the Columbia Ballroom, contrasted beautifully with the lighter tones of the day. Megan and Jon’s first dance was fun and sweet, a choreographed dance complete with lots of dips and twirls that made the crowd cheer! The cake was incredible, too, and because the bride’s aunt made the cake, it added a delightful family touch. And with the help of Louie Severino on DJ-duty, the night rocked on and on!
I had so much fun documenting the union of these two, and Columbia Station couldn’t have been a more perfect spot for their “I do”s. So, if you’re planning a Columbia Station wedding of your own, I’d love to work with you! Head to my bookings page to get in touch ASAP!
